Frequently asked questions

How do I generate and export a PDF report?

Open the job, tap Reports, then tap Generate Report. When the PDF is ready, use the share sheet to email it, AirDrop it, save it to Files, or send it via Messages.

Why isn't iCloud sync working?

Check that you're signed in to iCloud on the device and that iCloud Drive is enabled (iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud). Then in SnagHQ, go to Settings › iCloud and turn sync on. The first upload can take a few minutes depending on how many photos and reports you have.

If it still isn't working, free space in your iCloud account is the most common cause — photos and reports can add up quickly.

How do I turn on AI features?

AI transcription and report summaries are optional. To enable them, go to Settings › AI and enter your own API key from either OpenAI or Groq. SnagHQ sends requests directly from your device to the provider you chose — we never see your key or your content.

If you'd rather not use AI, every feature can be used manually. Voice recordings can be saved without transcription, and snag descriptions can be typed by hand.

Voice capture isn't recording or transcribing properly

Make sure SnagHQ has microphone permission (iOS Settings › SnagHQ › Microphone). For transcription, confirm you've entered a valid API key in Settings › AI and that your device has an internet connection at the moment you tap transcribe.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual snags, jobs, and reports from inside the app at any time — swipe or use the delete button on each item.

To remove everything, delete the SnagHQ app from your device. If you used iCloud sync, also remove the SnagHQ container from iCloud: iOS Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › SnagHQ.

Is SnagHQ free?

Yes — the app is currently free to download and use. Optional AI features rely on your own API key from OpenAI or Groq, which those providers may charge for based on usage (typically a few cents per report).

We may introduce a paid subscription tier in the future. If we do, anyone using the app before that point will be given clear notice in advance.

Is my data private?

Yes. SnagHQ stores your data on your device. We run no servers and have no access to your snags, photos, or reports. Optional iCloud sync uses your own iCloud account, and optional AI features use an API key you supply. See the full privacy policy for details.

The app crashed or I found a bug

Please email snaghq.app@outlook.com with a description of what you were doing when it happened, a screenshot if possible, and your device and iOS version. Crash reports help us fix things faster.

Which devices does SnagHQ support?

SnagHQ is available on iPhone running a recent version of iOS. An Android version isn't available yet.

Can I request a feature?

Yes — feature requests are welcome. Email snaghq.app@outlook.com with what you'd like the app to do and how you'd use it. We read every message.
